And the winner is…
Polish photographer Marek Arcimowicz, with the picture “Just a moment later I fell out the raft”, an excellent shot taken while the photographer was rafting down the Kali Gandaki River in Central Nepal.
“Most of the pictures are taken by tele lens, from the riverside. I wanted to show what it is like to be in a raft, just like Robert Capa did with war pictures. Be close, in, not out of the action! So, I used diving equipment for my camera and a 1550 Peli case for the rest of my stuff – visible on the picture”, explains Marek Arcimowicz.
When asked about Marek’s relationship with Peli products, the photographer said: “Besides using the 1550 Peli case, I also use a 1050 for hard drives, the 1520 for lighting equipment and a large 1660 to transport my equipment during big commercial sessions”.

The picture “Just a moment later I fell out the raft” was selected from a large number of entries;the panel of judges quickly recognised that due to the quality and originality of the submissions, picking a winner was going to be a difficult task.
As his prize, Peli™ Products will take Marek Arcimowicz to Photokina, the world-renowned professional photo & imaging exhibition held in Cologne, Germany. There, he will have the opportunity to see his work displayed at Peli’s booth (Hall 2.1, Aisle A, Booth 41-49) from the 23rd to 28th of September.

The selected photo will be exposed in a privileged location at Peli’s booth, together with the author’s information.
The deadline for entries is the 1st of September 2008, and the prize-winner will be contacted and announced on http://photocontest.peli.com on 5th of September.
