2008 PELI PHOTO CONTEST - RULES

Submit your best picture to Peli and exhibit at the world’s biggest photo event!

This contest is open to anyone living in Europe. Whether you are a professional or amateur photographer, you are welcome to submit your photos or group of photos to the "2008 Peli Photo Contest".

How to participate

To enter the Peli Photo Contest please follow these instructions:

  1. The author who submits their photos must fill in the Form at http://photocontest.peli.com
  2. Submit an original photograph in the following format (jpg): At least 300 dpi and not exceeding 2 Mb in size

Photo Contest

All photos submitted must include at least one of our products in a manner where it can be clearly seen. By submitting a photograph the author agrees to it being displayed publicly on photocontest.peli.com for the duration of the contest. The winning entry will become the property of Peli Products S.A. and may be used and/or modified without restriction in future publications, promotional materials or displays. The author of the winning entry shall give up all rights, entitlements and/or any proprietary rights to the photograph and does not and shall not have any proprietary rights in any products created, designed, manufactured, or produced, using the photograph submitted. We reserve the right to use and may use and/or modify any of the non-winning entries in future publications, promotional materials or displays, with the consent of the author however the author shall not have any proprietary rights in any products created, designed, manufactured, or produced, using the photograph submitted. There shall be no right to compensation for submission of, the public display of, or use of any photograph submitted to the contest.

Judging of entries

After the Contest Period has ended, all eligible entries will be ranked by the Judging Panel of the Photo Contest, whose decisions are final and binding for all aspects of the Contest, to determine the potential winner based on the following criteria:

  • Any Product from Peli should be clearly seen in the picture, and especially "in action"
  • Realistic or Artistic pictures of our products used in a workplace or in great sceneries, exotic places, extraordinary moments, or difficulty in taking the photos

Members of the judging panel of the contest are: Lyca Faulkner (International Portrait Photographer); Andres Magai Seibt (Nature and Travel Photographer); Kevin Murphy (Director of Marketing Peli USA); Jason Hoover (Art Director Peli USA); Estefanía Fenoy (Marketing Manager Peli EMEA).

The judging panel of the Photo Contest reserves the right to select the winner from all eligible entries. No other criteria will be applied and Peli’s decision will be final and binding for all aspects of the Contest. Contest rules are subject to Spanish law.

Timing

The Contest will run from 1st July until 1st September .

Prize

The author of the best picture will get the chance to exhibit at Peli's booth at Photokina, the world’s biggest and most important trade fair for photographic and imaging industries. Peli™ Products invites the winner to Cologne and cover travel and accommodation expenses (within reasonable guidelines as determined by Peli).

Winner

Peli™ Products will contact the winner once the judging has been completed. The winner will be published on http://photocontest.peli.com together with his/her photos (and/or stories) of our products on the 5th September 2008.

Official Rules

  • 1. ELIGIBILITY. The Peli™ Photo Contest may be entered by anyone throughout the European countries who is 18 years of age or older and had valid e-mail account.
  • 2. CONTEST DATES. Contest will run from 1st July until 1st September (the “Contest Period”).
  • 3. HOW TO PARTICIPATE. Submit online your photos and fill in the ‘Contest Entry Form’. All entries must be received before 1st September 2008. In order for your entry to be eligible, you will need to 1) complete the entry form and 2) submit an original photograph that is at least 300 dpi and not exceeding 2 Mb in size. Previously published photographs are ineligible. There is no limit of entries per person. Incomplete entries are ineligible. Proof of sending entry will not be deemed to be proof of receipt. All entries become the property of the Sponsor of the Contest, Peli Products, S.A., and will not be acknowledged or returned. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the entrant will be deemed to be the person in whose name the e-mail account was registered on the date when the entry was sent. The Contest Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, governors, agents and employees are not liable for lost, late, stolen, illegible, delayed, or misdirected entries, technical hardware or software failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, or damaged on-line entries, garbled or delayed computer transmissions, which may limit a user's ability to participate in the Contest in any way. The Contest Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, governors, agents and employees are not responsible for any problems or the technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail on account of technical problems or traffic congestion, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer or other property related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in connection with this Contest.

  • 5. WINNER NOTIFICATION. Each potential winner will be notified by Peli Products on the 5th September 2008

  • 7. VERIFICATION OF POTENTIAL WINNERS. All potential winners are subject to verification. Each potential winner (or the potential winner’s parent/legal guardian, if the potential winner is a minor) will be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (each a “Release”) within thirty (30) days of the date of notification or the prize will be forfeited and another winner will be selected.
  • 8. COLLECTION OF INFORMATION. Collection of any personal information will be in accordance with the privacy policies of the Peli website (the “Privacy Policy”).
  • 9. GENERAL. By submitting a photograph, the entrant warrants and represents that it is original and grants Sponsor the right to reproduce it in perpetuity, at no charge to Sponsor for all commercial purposes. By entering this Contest, each entrant and, to the extent applicable, his/her parent/legal guardian agree that (except in places where otherwise prohibited by law) the Sponsor may use the name, address, comments, likeness, photos, essay and essay ideas of the entrant if she/he becomes a winner of any prize in publicity or advertising concerning this Contest or otherwise in any medium now known or hereafter devised (including the Internet or other interactive network) in perpetuity throughout the universe without further compensation or right of review and agrees to waive his/her rights with respect to the essay. All entrants are subject to and agree to comply with and be bound by these Official Rules, the Privacy Policy and the decisions of the judges of the Contest, which are final and binding on all entrants for all aspects of the Contest. Non-compliance with any provisions of these Official Rules, including, but not limited to, any parent/legal guardian’s failure or refusal to sign a Release, will be grounds for disqualification of the selected entrant, forfeiture of any prize, and selection of an alternate entrant.

    The Contest Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, governors, agents and employees are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including but not limited to errors in advertising, these Official Rules, the selection and announcement of the winner, or the distribution of any Prizes. The Contest Parties and their respective affiliates, officers, directors, governors, agents and employees: (i) make no warranty, guaranty, or representation of any kind concerning any prize, (ii) disclaim any implied warranty, and (iii) are not liable for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from the acceptance or use of any prize, including any travel related to, or from participation in this Contest. If any activity relating to any Prize is canceled or postponed for any reason, the balance of that Prize will be awarded in full satisfaction of that Prize.

    The Sponsor reserves the right, to cancel the Contest at any time, without notice and for any reason, if fraud, technical failures, virus, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond the control of the Sponsor destroy the integrity of the Contest as determined in the Sponsor’s sole discretion and to award the prizes based on entries received prior to the cancellation. Any attempt by an individual to deliberately damage any Web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest (including, but not limited to, any violations of these Official Rules) may be a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to: (i) disqualify any such entrant from the Contest , and (ii) seek damages from any such entrant to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Contest is governed by the Spanish law.
